HELPING YORK TEENS THRIVE

YORKWISE is a nonprofit dedicated to drug and alcohol prevention and education for York’s youth and families. Each year, we invest in safe spaces, engaging programs (including Project Graduation), and evidence-based education — directing over $80,000 last year to support the health, safety, and well-being of York teens.

For more than 40 years, YORKWISE has helped keep York High School graduates safe on graduation night through Project Graduation — one of the longest-running programs of its kind in Maine, with nearly 99% student participation each year.

Rooted in York. Focused on Prevention.

YORKWISE was founded in 1981 and continues to be one of the only organizations of its kind in the State of Maine dedicated solely to drug and alcohol prevention and education for youth and families.

For more than four decades, we’ve supported substance-free experiences like Project Graduation and invested in education, programming, and community events that help young people make healthy, informed choices.

Our work is powered by local support. Each year, our benefit auction serves as our largest fundraiser, and we gratefully accept donations of items, services, and cash throughout the year to help sustain and grow our impact.
